After & Before “Write On” @ No Excuses
There are times in life we find ourselves wrestling with thoughts and fears that stand in the way of really going for our dreams. A reader asks, “what are some of the ways you can move beyond the fears?” I have three basic approaches I put into play when fear strikes:
1. I communicate with my coach. Being trained as a coach and investing the time and money in working with a coach has changed my life. When I can’t see my bigger vision through the fog of fear or the confusion of trying to figure things out, I have someone there to help me reconnect to my mission. After & Before @ Comfort vs. Comfortable
Being Comfortable is not the path to transformation but finding emotional comfort during hard times is a blessing. One of the great comforts in my story of loss was my grandmother. After & Before Blog @ Being Comfortable
If it feels comfortable, you are not stretching, growing, risking or reaching. You cannot test yourself within the bounds of comfortable. And each new task, action or behavior you attempt requires the willingness to feel uncomfortable.
Today is the final day in Chicago on the last production job of my twenty year career in Hollywood. It is both exciting and uncomfortable. Though the past three weeks have been filled with incredible challenges, both logistically and working with a number of people who have a much different mindset, it was comfortable. I know the production drill. My team, headed by my producer and my unit production manager, had an extraordinary number of years of experience we brought to the table, which allowed us to work through pretty much everything that came our way. My production job is not rocket science and it is comfortable for me. Continue reading “After & Before Blog @ Being Comfortable”
